Cooper Family from Thomas Cooper of Georgia, born in 1794

My COOPER family is currently known back to Thomas COOPER, born in 1794. The place of his birth is currently unknown. He was married in Coweta County in 1846 to Susannah or Susan FRY (1820-1880), daughter of John Gilmore FRY of Coweta County, Georgia. Thomas and Susan had the following children: Emily, Mary Elizabeth, John F. and William J. COOPER. Thomas COOPER died in Georgia in 1876.

My Great Great Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth COOPER, was born in Newnan, Coweta County, Georgia, in 1847. She was married to William Harrison JONES (in Coweta County in 1864. Much of his time was spent as a minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and so they moved around a bit, but it is believed that most of their time they lived in Henry County, Georgia. Their children were: Annie L., Mary E., Thomas Cooper, Fannie Lou, Minnie Kate, Leila W., Isaac Errett, Florence and Edna JONES.

My Great Grandmother, Edna JONES, was born in Georgia (most likely Henry County) in 1886. Apparently she was the youngest of all her siblings. She was married to Wilson Madison STARR (1880-1944) and they had the following children: James Glenn, Rubye Florence, Opal, Harold, Mary Beulah, Martha, Mildred, William Clarence, Wayne and Evelyn Jeanette "Janie" STARR. Edna JONES died in 1957 in Hampton, Henry County, Georgia. Her daughter, Rubye Florence STARR, was my Grandmother. She was born in 1911 and lived a very long life, dying in Spalding County, Georgia in 2004.
