Walter Coleman
Walter Coleman and wife, Rubye Starr, graciously shared by Pauline Starr Floyd, who was at one time married to Ruby's brother, Billy Starr. I do not know when this photo was taken, but I would guess it dates to the 1940's or 1950's.

This picture, gratiously provided to me by cousin and fellow researcher Vivian Goodson Westmoreland of Griffin, Georgia, is of the teacher and students of the Rising Sun School. This school was located in the Birdie community of Spalding County at the County Line Methodist Church. Included in this photo are the three older sisters of my grandfather, Walter Coleman, though he was probably too young to be in this particular photo. I believe the photo dates two or three years earlier than is claimed in the writeup under the photo. His older sisters in this photo are Myrtice Coleman, Annie Coleman and Clara Coleman. Note, this picture file is rather large, so over dialup the down load will take a minute or two.
I am told that this photo of the students at Rising Sun School is a few years later than the previous one. This photo was provided by Wayne Smith, the son of Clara Coleman. I am told that Clara Coleman is the 4th child from the left in the 4th row. I am also told that Walter Coleman may be in this photo, but as yet I am not sure which one he is. In addition, I am told by Vivian Westmoreland that the twins on the 2nd row, 3rd and 4th from the left, are Lora and Ora Pendley, daughters of Vara Rodgers. Others in this photo are yet to be identified. Again, this is a large file.

Cora Lee Taylor and husband Ufa Howell Fallin - Cora Lee Taylor (1916-1974) was the daughter of John Thomas Taylor (1863-abt. 1917) and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Coleman (1872-1928). John Thomas Taylor was a son of John W. Taylor and Sarah Ann Coleman, who was sister to John M.C. Coleman and James McIntosh Coleman. Cora's mother, Mary Elizabeth Molly Coleman, was daughter of Jeremiah C. Coleman (1843-1894) and Martha Jane "Mattie" Lewis (1851-1929). Jeremiah "Jerry" Coleman is strongly believed to have been a 1st cousin of Sarah, John and James Coleman. In short, Cora was a granddaughter of Sarah Ann Coleman, and also of Jeremiah C. Coleman. I am told that this photo was taken at the wedding of Cora's daughter, Rita Faye Fallin, on 2/2/1973. The photo was graciously supplied by another of Cora's daughters, Helen Lucille Fallin Owens.
